Death Row Boy is a compelling story based on real life events of Ahrash, a 13-year-old village boy from northern Iran. Nasrin Sadrian skillfully offers her readers a glimpse into a culture devastated by a religious revolution and a bitter war with Iraq.
The tale of Ahrash is an emotional roller coaster with twists and turns that make the book hard to put down. There are heroes to inspire and love, as well as cruel villains who made me question the nature of humanity. I, personally, had to keep reading until I reached the end.
Nasrin Sadrian’s first novel is an admirable achievement. Ahrash’s story in Death Row Boy will stay with me for many years to come.

Good and evil and being human
The human condition with in Sharia law…
This book took a hold on me so much that early on i decided to “savor” it taking my time to read 2 or 3 chapters at a time. It so captivated me that i did side researches of certain places and mountain ranges the author talked about to embelish the scenes. I did not want the book to end imagining in my head several possible outcomes. Heart stopping story written beautifully about good and evil and the universal human condition. This book would make an excellent movie! Loved it!

Interesting well written true story
This is a page turner can’t put it down.
I met the beautiful writer during a cruise and it was still in the editing process. Since then I’ve been waiting for it to be available and was finally able to order it. With all the eagerness and anticipation I wondered if it would live up to my expectations. It did that and then some!
I love Nasrin’s writing style and her ability to tell the story in such a realistic, interesting way.
I wish I could tell her myself how much I love this book, what a great writer she is!!

This story of a 13 year old child’s imprisonment under Sharia Law in post revolution Iran is moving and educational. The book takes you on a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. A well written must read to be shared.
